The Happiest Day in the Life of Olli Maki (Hymyilevä mies) (12A)

Dir. Juho Kuosamanen Finland/Sweden/Germany 2016 (93m)

The true story of the famous Finnish boxer who had a shot at the 1962 World Featherweight title. Olli's small-town life is transformed when he is swept into national stardom … but he has just fallen in love, and boxing and romance become unlikely adversaries vying for Olli's attention.

Datchet Village Hall is a short walk from the village centre, shops and railway station.  There is plenty of free car parking adjacent to the hall.  Unfortunately it does not have a licence for the sale of alcohol but if you would like to bring alcoholic drinks to consume on the premises we will provide the glasses!

The Royal Stag in the village centre on The Green is a proper pub serving good food and beer, and open until midnight.  Ideal for a pre-film aperitif or a post-film drink and discussion.
